Why Do We Charge For Shipping?
At Obasan, transparency is part of how we care for our customers and for the planet. While many brands include shipping costs quietly in their product pricing, we choose to be upfront about the true cost of delivering thoughtfully made, responsibly sourced products to your home.
By clearly outlining our non-refundable shipping fees, we encourage more mindful purchasing decisions and help reduce unnecessary returns, which is a vital step in lowering our environmental impact. Thank you for supporting an approach rooted in honesty, care, and responsible retail.
What Happens After My Order Is Placed?
Once you receive your order confirmation, it will be carefully prepared and processed within 7 business days (excluding weekends and holidays). An Obasan Customer Experience Specialist will personally reach out to confirm your order details and walk you through the expected timeline.
Because many of our products are customized to suit your needs, delivery timelines can vary. Our team makes sure you’re informed every step of the way, and will notify you as soon as your order has shipped.
Domestic Shipping Rates and Estimates
We offer free shipping on all orders over $400, with the exception of foundations, which require special handling and incur a flat shipping fee:
- $250 CAD within Canada
- $400 USD within the United States
We work hard to keep shipping costs as fair as possible, even as carrier fees continue to rise. In fact, the shipping fees you see typically cover only about half of our actual shipping costs. Your support allows us to continue crafting high-quality sleep products without compromising on materials, ethics, or care.
In-Store Pick Up
If you’re local to Ottawa, you’re welcome to enjoy free in-store pickup at our workshop and showroom at 155 Colonnade Rd, Ottawa, Ontario.
Once your order is ready, a member of our Customer Experience team will contact you with pickup details. Please bring your order confirmation email when you arrive and we’ll take care of the rest.
International Shipping
For international orders, shipping rates vary depending on location and product selection. To receive a personalized shipping quote, please contact one of our Sleep Specialists who are happy to help.

When your order ships, you’ll receive an email with tracking information so you can follow its journey to your home. Please allow up to 48 hours for tracking details to become active.
